STRATEGY & TIPS FOR ASPIRANTS TO SCORE MAXIMUM IN IBPS RRB SCALE I

Dear students, 

While many of you are practising hard and are in the final stage of your preparation for IBPS-RRB Officer Scale I, some of you might have been struggling to consistently clear cut-offs in mock tests. Whichever mock tests you are using for your exam preparation, we want to share some information to help you strategize better for exam. This information is based on grade-up,test-book, olive-board test series in which over 20,000 aspirants have regularly attempted the series of 20 tests, and over 55,000 aspirants have taken the free mock test.

Analyzing performance of toppers, who have consistently cleared cut-offs in the respective mock tests for IBPS RRB Officer Scale I Prelims, we have found some insights to share with you.

Let’s first understand the data:

1. Average questions per test indicate the average no. of questions from a topic in one test. You will not find some topics in all the tests.
2. Average score per test is the average score in the respective topic as scored by toppers who consistently clear cut-offs in mock tests.
3. Questions attempted (%) is the percentage of questions that toppers attempt in the topic.
4. Accuracy is percentage of correctly attempted questions in the respective topic
5. Average time is the time spent, in seconds, on an average on each question in the topic

Important Points for IBPS RRB Officer Scale I Exam:

1. Charts based and table based DI, Simplification, Series, and Caselet based questions are key topics and a majority of questions will be from these areas. 
2. Aspirants who consistently clear cut-offs are carefully selecting questions from Chart based DI, Series (attempting 3 out of 4 questions), and table based DI (attempting 2 out of 3 questions). This tells you that they are comfortable with these topics and are selecting questions carefully - which results in 90%+ accuracy.
3. Simplifications and quadratic equations are scoring areas where aspirants are attempting 90% + questions with the accuracy of ~90%. Also, note that they are taking slightly higher time in quadratic equation questions - 38 seconds.
4. Caselets, Profit & loss, and Probability are tough topics even for toppers as you can see from reduced accuracy in these topic.

Important Points from Topper’s Performance

1. The reasoning is clearly a strong area for all toppers as they are consistently able to score 95%+ accuracy across all important topics.
2. This implies that it is imperative to score well in reasoning section to clear overall cut-offs in RRB OS1 Prelims
3. In inequalities and tabulation, toppers have attempted all the questions across papers
